Welcome to my Blog! Have a look around.

My blog is about all the different war games and RPGs I play and run. Here I discuss armies I'm working on and scenarios I want to run. Also I will talk about those parts of pop culture that influence my designs and tastes.

Another of my long-time interests is cheesy sci-fi and horror movies and all the wonderful hosts who make them so entertaining. So to entertain the fantasy of being one I will tend to post like one.

I am a long time player of 40K, I also enjoy other generic sci-fi war games too. I love to build and customize my miniatures, vehicles and armies to the point that rarely does something make it from the packaging to the table without some tweaking.

As for RPGs there are probably only a very few that I haven't played, owned or thumbed through. My tastes tend towards sci-fi and horror over fantasy but I've been told I run a pretty kick-ass session of Hercules/Xena by WEG.

About Me

My Photo
Robo-reservation, Deep Southwest, United States
I'm a killer cyborg along with an army of death machines sent from the future to wipe out man-kind, but a mishap scattered the army across time. Many arrive in 80's Hollywood and got jobs in cheap Sci-fi movies and TV shows forgetting their oaths to destroy all humans. Those that couldn't find work were rounded up and deposited on this secret reservation deep in the southwest dessert of the USA.

This week on CBT CPT 1/1/12

Hey there viewers!!! It's a new year and hopefully, if the Aztecs aren't right, not the last one!
Between work and the holidays the Trucker's been pretty busy. But I did get a few things painted this week.
I had some extra stuff lying around the workshop so I turned it into some terrain for my Demotek Dynasty Necrons. Ever notice in the Necron's case that Dynasty (Die Nasty) is rather fitting for them? I also manage to finish the first Cryptek and his staff weapon.
Next is a new Heavy Weapon Traitor for my Iron Warriors. I picked up some firing rocket parts from Armorcast to spruce it up. They are very easy to add to a model to dramatic effect in my opinion. Next to him is a traitor techmarine relaying targets to the Havoc.
I'm very happy with how the rocket's thrust bloom came out. I was worried it may look a little fake. But I think the shot above kind of looks like a stop-motion photo.

Hey a strange freezer truck is pulling into the truck stop kiddies! Oh look it's Delivery Dan!
"Hey there Dan what's with the new wheels? Ah, delivering corpses to the new research center down the road."
"Well that's great cause it ties into this week's movie! Dead Heat!"

This movie stars Treat Williams as Det. Roger Mortis and the always hilarious Joe Piscopo as Det. Doug Bigelow. These two cops are trying to solve the mystery of the "Cash and Dash" robbers when they stumble upon a bigger mystery of how corpses are coming back to life to rob and steal!
Also in the film is the beautiful Claire Kirkconnel as Dr. Rebecca Smythers, coroner and love interest of Mortis. The always lovely Lindsey Frost as Randi James the reluctant public relations liaison for the evil company causing all the problems.
Encountered in the adventure are Darren McGavin as Dr. Ernest McNab and Vincent Price as Arthur P Loudermilk. Keep an eye out for Richard Picardo in a cameo as Lt. Herzog.

So sit back, zip up your body bags to keep warm and enjoy Dead Heat!

  1. Dead Heat is a classic! I remember seeing that turkey at the drive-in back in the day.

  2. Somehow I hadn't heard of this...
My first reaction was 'ewwww... ick!'... but after a moment's thought (just a moment's worth) I'm thinking it sounds like fun.

  3. While I can't promise not to post a few stinkers Dead Heat really is a one-of-a-kind treat! Something that I don't think will be coming along again. Hope I opened a few eyes to a great little flick!

  4. I'm just stunned this got a Blu-Ray release. I'll have to check it out again, as I haven't seen it in over a decade.
